It has been such a wonderful experience setting up a new studio in my new Hong Kong home and I am so thrilled to have somewhere to work out there. I am delighted to be showing my latest collection of paintings created there and inspired by my travels through Asia. My life is now split between Hong Kong and the UK. In the UK I have a huge studio, nestled in the South Downs and this is where I paint large abstracts for big spaces. In Hong Kong my studio is tiny and it has been really exciting to challenge myself to work in such a different way creating intricate, miniature paintings. I always find inspiration everywhere and Asia provides an endless stream of stimulation. My travel adventures are intense yet joyful which mirrors my life as an artist. My aim was to capture the essence of my travels and experiences in this new collection and it feels like a sketchbook of my Asian life. I can’t wait to show these multi-layered miniature treasures at my September Open Studio.
I will be opening the doors of my East Sussex studio for the weekend of September 21 & 22 showing my new collection, inspired by Asia. This is a rare opportunity to view and purchase these unique small paintings directly from me.
